Birthday Party

Weekly Update & Miscellaneous Meanderings

This past weekend was a busy one!  We celebrated my daughters second birthday Saturday afternoon and the Twins birthday in the evening.  (What was I thinking?)  It was a crazy day but the kids were really good considering all the craziness.

I had a friend take most of the pictures and I haven't had a chance to look at them but I am sure there are a few (who am I kidding probably a tonne) of scrapbooking pages just waiting for me!

I am thinking there will be some doodle bug brads joining the party pages!

Scrapbooking with Preschoolers at Home:
How I get stuff done in my scrapbooks with three preschoolers at home.  As Bob the Builder would say... "Can we do it?  YES we can!"

My tip this week: Kids love the cricut, especially the Paper Doll Dress up and Animal Kingdom cartridges!  I sprayed some vellum spray (needed the extra stickiness) on some of the kids fun foam and I cut out some Dinosaurs from the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge (using the deep cut blade).  The kids had fun with them while I did some more organizing!

Funny of the week at my house:

Word of the week.. moustache.  My daugther was busy entertaining at her birthday party.  We had cupcakes for her party.  Dad held hers while she dug in (to the icing first of course).  Then she proclaimed that she had a 'moustache' and she wandered about showing all of the guests!

Scrapbooking with Preschoolers at Home - Installment #1

Weekly Update & Miscellaneous Meanderings
Well I was lucky to have a day this weekend with friends scrapbooking, it is the first time we have gotten together since we moved over a year ago.  It was great fun and helped me get a few extra pages done this week.

Scrapbooking with Preschoolers at Home:
Over the coming weeks I would like to share some hits and tips on my blog day as to how I get anything done in my scrapbooks with three preschoolers at home. 

#1 - Make a spot in the kids play area where you can setup a scrapbooking area, this way you can do a little scrapbooking and keep an eye on those busy bees.  Mare sure to have a place where you can put your sharp cutting tools out of reach.   If I didn't already have a table near my kids play area I would have looked into one of these:  (See one in the store! It's called a Scrap-N-Stow table!)

My Cupcake Project
Last week I made mention that I was working on my daughters 1st birthday pages.  Here is a picture of the cupcake layout that I finished last week.   The 2 page layout was actually completed using 1 of the Creative Imaginations birthday cupcake pages.  I started working with the layout and I was going to be covering up too many of the cupcakes so I got out my exacto knife and went crazy cutting out the cupcakes!  I had to use some of my latest addiction too, flowers!

Funny of the week at my house:
I stepped out to use the ladies room and when I came back my littlest one had climbed up on a table.  She started to run when I came back, only she ran out of table.   I guess she truly is a Monkey!

Happy St. Patrick's Day and A little about Tuesday's Blog Gal!

 Hope everyone is having a wonderful St. Patties Day!  I plan on dressing my kids up in green today so I can use some of the (Best Creations) paper, shown below, for a cool layout!

 

A little about me:
I am Married with 3 children. I have twin boys that are 3 1/2 and a 20 month old daughter.   I am addicted to Scrapbooking, photo taking, old cars and my computer!  (Before kids I was actually a Consultant in the Computer Industry, hence the computer addiction.  I am not sure where the car thing came from though?)

My Style:
I like to keep things fairly simple.  I take WAY to many pictures of the kids and I feel the need to include most of them in my scrapbooks.  It doesn't leave a lot of room for embellishments, but I manage to work some in.   I love to use patterned paper to enhance my pages without a lot of work. 

Why do I scrapbook?:
I want to capture as many memories as I can so that I may look back and relive those precious moments.  I find that Scrapbooking is also very relaxing, it's a great way to spend a day, evening or afternoon! (Or weekend when the Hubby lets me!)

My latest Project:
I have been working on my daughters first birthday pages.   I love the Best Creations paper and they had the perfect paper for me, cupcakes!  I made cupcakes for her birthday so the cupcake paper had to come home with me!  Stay tuned next week for an update on my 2 page layout.

Funny of the week at my house:
At the dinner table, after discussing how my oldest (by about 1 second) wakes everyone up he replied with the following "My Teddy was talking and woke everyone up, not me Mom."
