So in keeping with the current subject of simple scrapbooking, I have devised a method that works well for me. With moving recently, I haven't had a lot of time to scrapbook since the unpacking and settling in is taking priority. So, I have decided to break things down a bit. I choose papers that match my pictures (both cardstock and patterned) and then sketch a layout based on the papers only. I then create the layout using the pictures and papers only. When I have a bit more time I go back to these started layouts and add the title, journaling and embellishments. I have found that this method really takes the pressure off of getting caught up. It feels great just to get the pictures attached to the pages! Here is an example of a started layout. I will post the finished layout next week.
And in keeping with the topic of ideas for simplifying the scrapbooking process, I have found two great websites. The first one is http://52sketches52weeks.com . It is a site that has a new sketch each week, with samples of the sketches. It's a great starting point for when you are low on creativity! The other site is www.bazzillbasics.com/matchmaker. This is a site that has the Bazzill cardstock color matches for many different patterned paper companies. What a great tool! Why search for the color matches when they do it for you? If you have any great websites to share you can email me at natscrapper@hotmail.com. Thanks!
