Weekly Update & Miscellaneous Meanderings
I have been wanting to share this since my first post but I keep getting sidetracked! So here goes. A while back I went on my first retreat, now I am wondering what took me so long? It was a great and productive weekend. I managed to get 46 pages done and another 200 or so photos cropped. Of course I took way to much stuff, I just couldn't decided what I needed! It was such a great weekend away and the food was awesome, the people were great. It was nice to be able to just concentrate on scrapbooking, no whining children, no cooking, just scrapbooking! I was amazed that it was noisier than 2 - 3 year olds and a 20 month old though! :) I was disappointed that I wasn't the last one to bed, I will have to try harder next time! :)
If you haven't been to one yet, you really must try it out! We have some retreats coming up in again in November! Here's the Link to Bittern Lake Lodge if you would like to check it out!
Scrapbooking with Preschoolers at Home #3:
How I get stuff done in my scrapbooks with three preschoolers at home. As Bob the Builder would say... "Can we do it? YES we can!"
#3 - Now you have your table and you have found an hour to do some work. So what's next? Get organized! I spent the first week or so getting everything organized so that I was essentially ready to go. I organized my paper into colours, then I organized all my tools. I used one of those rolling drawer cabinets to put my tools in, each drawer has a different purpose. I made sure that everything I needed was within arms reach. Some days I get a lot done, sometimes I need my referee shirt on!

Funny of the week at my house:
Did you know you can scrapbook with a toddler on your knee? Apparently it is possible. The other day I really wanted to finish a layout I was working on but my daughter wanted to sit with mom. So I put a chair beside me and put here there. That wasn't good enough, she had to be on my knee, so I hoisted her up, gave her a container of pens (she can't get the lids off yet!) to play with and away we went. I managed to finish my layout and she had fun putting the pens in and out of the container. A scrapbooker in training?
